'Catherine and Jane are both ex-wives of the late Basil Hayling. He left them with a grand house to share, on the condition that they do not sell any of the antiques it contains. They are perpetually in debt and their only hope is to sell a spray of Indian Emeralds. Are they priceless or worthless fakes? With debtors on one side and eager buyers on the other, life soon becomes a frantic roller-coaster. Fool's Paradise is a lively farcical comedy set in the 1950s.'
